A sum of 300 Baht will be collected upon entry to Thailand from foreign tourists from April this year. The fee will be used for the development of the tourist attractions and for accidents or death insurance for all tourists. The maximum insurance pay-out would be 1 million Baht in the case of death and 500,000 Baht for medical expenses. The charge would be included in airfares.
